Box of Wood: Ebony? Wood

I'm clearing out my stock of wood for making knife grips and grips. This batch of wood was all cut from a large block I bought years ago. As I recall it was Ebony, however it does show some lighter patterning so it -may- be Makassar Ebony. In any case it is very dark, dense and hard and was cut about 15 years ago. I oiled a couple of pieces, they are the darker ones in the top row. Finished out, this wood will be very dark, almost black. The pieces were cut to provide good blanks for knife grips. Length is mostly around 130x45 or 80mm. Total weight of the wood: approx. 4 Kilo.
